Sunday School
Sundays at 10:30am
Hope's Sunday School program runs September through May and is for children ages Pre-K through 5th grade. It offers kids opportunities to build skills for faith formation practices (Bible reading, praying, etc.) as well as developing a basic understanding of God’s love for them and their identity as children of God!
Participants begin in worship with their families, then join teachers to head to class after the Children’s Message. Kids also have the opportunity for communion or a blessing during worship before returning to their small group.
Volunteer teachers and assistants are needed each week to cover our Pre-K & Kindergarten class, our 1st & 2nd Grade class, and our 3rd to 5th Grade class. 5th graders can participate in their age group class or opt to serve as junior counselors, assisting in other classes. Volunteers 18+ are asked to have a current background check and take our online Abuse Prevention Training class, both provided at no cost.
For more information, please contact Alicia Herrle, Children's Ministry Coordinator.
First Communion
Holy Communion is a gift from God! As with any gift that God bestows, it is given with no strings attached—there is nothing we can do that makes us more or less worthy to receive the gift. When kids receive a gift, it is natural to want to know all about what it is, how it works, and what to do with it. That is what the First Communion class will teach our kids. To learn more, please contact Pastor Amy Cooley Higgs.
Confirmation
Calling all 6th-8th graders to join us! Confirmation class will meet two Wednesdays each month from 5:30-7:30pm (you’ll receive a schedule for the year after registering). Additional youth events will happen monthly along with retreats and special events several times throughout the year.
Hope Confirmation provides our young people the opportunity to affirm the baptismal vows made by parents and take their faith lives into their own hands! This time prepares them to publicly declare their intent to continue their faith journey and to receive the love and support of their congregation.
Please register for Confirmation Here and talk to Pastor Amy Cooley Higgs with any questions or concerns.
Youth Ministry
Get ready to mark your calendar with FUN events for youth in 6th-12th grade this year! Beginning with our Pizza & Parents Night, we’ll offer something exciting to join every month, sometimes at Hope in the Youth Room, sometimes out in the community. Friends are always welcome! And food will most likely be a part of every event. Get your 2025-26 schedule to save the dates! For more information, please contact Pastor Amy Cooley Higgs.
Upcoming Events for Children, Youth, and Families
For Heaven's Sake! Parenting Preschoolers Faithfully
Join Pastor Amy for 8 weeks this fall as we learn together how to integrate faith formation into daily life together as families with young children. Parents are their child's very first and most important teachers and vitally important to passing on faith. Parenting and the nurturing of faith are most effective when practiced together. So we will spend each week of our time together learning practical ways to love our children with the love of Jesus, raise children others can love, and parent through the hard times. Sign up here. For more information or if you have questions, please contact Pastor Amy Cooley Higgs.

80 Years, 80 Campers
Living Water Ministry
To honor Living Water Ministry's legacy of 80 years at Stony Lake, we are encouraging Hope to support the “80 Years. 80 Campers" campaign which has the goal of raising $40,000 for the LWM Scholarship Fund and to fully cover 80 campers’ fees for a transformative week of camp at Stony Lake. LWM is excited about this anniversary and this campaign and are even more excited to share that every dollar raised will be matched 1:1 through the 2025 Matching Gift Challenge impacting even more campers’ lives! Please join LWM as we celebrate the past by investing in the future!
Each $500 donation covers one camper's full week experience, but every contribution - big or small - brings LWM closer to the goal. Whether it's $500 to fully sponsor a camper, $80 to commemorate the 80th anniversary or any amount that fits your generosity, your support makes a tangible difference. Be part of honoring a ministry that’s shaped lives for 80 years. Your support ensures that the next generation experiences all the joy, faith, and community that Stony Lake has to offer. Donate Now Together, let's celebrate the past and invest in the future.
