Anyone is welcome to affirm their baptism at any time in order to be reminded of the amazing grace God has given us! Confirmation is a special opportunity for adolescents to publicly declare their intent to continue their faith journey and to receive the love and support of their congregation.

Who can join Confirmation?

At Hope, Confirmation preparation begins in 5th grade. Students who are in 5th and 6th grades meet together on a bi-weekly basis, and 7th and 8th graders meet together on the alternate weeks. The Rite of Confirmation typically occurs in the fall of the students’ 9th grade year.

Adults are also able to let Pastor Rebecca know they are willing to volunteer as Confirmation assistants.

What do students learn in Confirmation?

5th and 6th graders will explore the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament. 7th and 8th graders will learn about Christian history, teachings, and ritual. Our goal is to give young people a solid foundation of love and support for what we pray will be a lifelong journey of faith made in curiosity, humility, and wonder.

When does Confirmation meet?

Confirmation runs September through May and meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm. Students will be grouped by grade in one of two groups: (1) 5th & 6th graders and (2) 7th & 8th graders. These groups will meet on an alternating weekly basis.

Do I need to register my student?

YES! Registering not only helps us plan but also provides a way to communicate any schedule changes that may arise. Please REGISTER HERE.

Do you have a schedule for the year?
