"Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day. And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden, like and ever-flowing spring." Isaiah 58:10-11

Farmington area food drive

Hope's Food Drive for the Local Community

The Farmington Neighborhood House is a clearinghouse for local needs such as food, clothing, medical referrals, etc.  It operates out of the Farmington Community School and a warehouse on Grand River.  Neighborhood House is finding that people in our area need our help more than ever! Hope has made a commitment to provide monthly food donations to them to be distributed to families in need.  The Service Ministry Team encourages all Hope members to start a new habit of bringing an extra can or package of non-perishable food to church each Sunday.  If everyone brought just one can of food each Sunday, imagine how much food we could provide to the Neighborhood House!

In addition to non-perishable items, it has been brought to our attention that they also are in need of items that food stamps will not cover; toiletries such as shampoo, toothbrushes and paste, soap and deodorant for men, women and children.  Also diapers, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and cleaning supplies.  All food, toiletries and other items may be placed in the “Food Pantry” box in the hallway across from the church mailboxes.

Neighborhood House also accepts donations of gently used children's clothing for age newborn through five years.  If you would like to donate, please drop them off at Neighborhood House, 30415 Shiawassee, Farmington Hills, 48336, or call 248-871-2848 with questions.
