Becoming a Member

We are pleased that you may be considering becoming a member of Hope Lutheran Church.

New member classes are held several times during the year on a Saturday morning.  People that are transferring from other Lutheran congregations are asked to request a transfer from their former congregation but are also asked to attend a new member class to become familiar with our church and its history, to find a place in the community, and to get to know the pastors and others joining at the same time.

Letters of invitation will be mailed to those that have been visiting the church or have indicated that they are interested in becoming a member of the congregation.  Questions about becoming a member can be directed to Pastor Brad or Pastor Lauren.  Childcare is available at new member classes by request only.  Please call the church office with questions.

New member orientation will address the following questions:

  • What is this church all about?  How is it destinctively Lutheran?
  • What does it mean to be on a spiritual journey?  What are your spiritual gifts?
  • What is the mission of Hope Lutheran Church?
  • What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ in a congregation like Hope?
  • How can each of us be good stewards of the gifts of time, talent and treasure with which God has blessed us?

As a member of Hope Lutheran Church, you can expect:

  • To experience teaching and preaching that is biblical and Christ-centered.
  • To share in Holy Communion in worship every Sunday and on Festival occasions (e.g. - Christmas Eve).
  • To experience a supportive community of faith through worship, classes, small groups and special events.
  • To have the opportunity of pastoral counsel in the midst of life's challenges.

Watch for class dates on the News & Events page and on the rolling announcements before and after services.
