worship, Music and Arts

Our goal at Hope is to provide worship that is  inspirational

in a church that is  relational

    Vocal MUSIC

There are many vocal opportunities at Hope.  If you love to sing, then we have some options for you!

Praise Choir leads the music at the 9:30 service. This choir leads the Traditional hymns and Contemporary songs during the 9:30 worship. There are two choirs that take turns leading the service.  One team does the 1st and 3rd Sundays and the other team does the 2nd and 4th Sundays.  The group rehearses before the service and after the service for two weeks later.  There is not any other day of rehearsal required.

Praise Singers lead the music at the 11:00 service.  This is a smaller combo type group that leads fully contemporary praise music.  The members take turns leading individually and as a group.  They rehearse on Thursday nights from 7-8:15pm.

SNL (Sunday Night Live) Praise Singer leads the songs with the confirmation and Sr. High youth during the Sunday evening.  The rehearsal is before the worship at 5:00pm on Sundays.  This group performs very high energy contemporary Christian songs as well as "campy"--hand moving songs.

Special Vocal Solos/Ensembles are done during the summer months and during the 8:00am service also.

SONshine Singers (PK-2nd Grade) This is a group for our youngest singers.  They meet weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:00pm.  Not only do they sing, but they also learn about music and God and have lots of fun. This group performs once a month at church. If you have any questions, please contact Katy Golden or Mark Wagner.  Otherwise we hope to see your little ones on Wednesdays!

the Edge (6th-12th Grade) This group combines singing and acting with a lot of laughter.  They meet weekly on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30pm.  They perform a short skit and a song every month in church.  In the spring, they perform a full musical that is written by our very own directors.  If you have any questions, please contact Dirk and Jessica Beamer.

    THE ARTS

Liturgical Dance 1 (K-5th Grade) This group uses basic, simple dance steps to share their joy and excitement for the Lord.  They meet on Wednesdays from 7:00-7:30pm in the Sanctuary.  Girls and boys are welcome of any ability level. This group will perform approximately every six weeks at church services.  If you have any questions, please contact Brenda Zahn.

Liturgical Dance 2 (6th -12th Grade)  This group uses many different styles of dance from ballet to jazz to a little hip-hop to praise God.  They meet on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm in the Sanctuary.  All ability levels are welcome and prior dance experience is not required.  This group performs approximately every six weeks at church services.  If you have any questions, please contact Brenda Zahn.

the Edge (6th-12th Grade) This group combines singing and acting with a lot of laughter. They meet weekly on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30pm. They perform a short skit and a song every month in church. In the spring, they perform a full musical that is written by our very own directors. If you have any questions, please contact Dirk and Jessica Beamer.

Acting: There are opportunities for all ages to perform in skits and full dramas throughout the year.  In general, there will always be something to be a part of during the Christmas and Easter seasons.  We would also like to add short skits to go along with sermons occasionally throughout the year also.  If you are interested, please contact Chris Childers.

Lenten Art Project: Each year we as a church take on an art project during lent.  Sometimes it is an individual project and other times it is a group project.  If you would be interested in helping to brainstorm ideas and execute these projects, please contact Chris Childers.

Space Team:  This is really our special decorations team.  They are a group of people who are creative, artsy, talented people who design the worship space and narthex to help immerse the congregation in a theme or a season of the church.  We need all kinds of people for this group--dreamers, sewers, painters, builders, visionaries, and many more.  If you are interested, please contact Chris Childers.

    Instrumental music

There are many instrumental opportunities at Hope as well. Whether you like to play rock or classical, we can find a place fore you to play.

Blended Praise Band lead the music at the 9:30 and 11:00 services. You can choose how often you would like to serve each month. They play primarily contemporary Christian music which is more pop/rock. They practice Thursdays from 7-8pm and at 8:15am on the Sunday that you are leading. Electric guitar, Acoustic guitar, piano, synthesizer and drums are the basics.  Occasionally brass, woodwinds and strings are added.

Orchestral Players are needed at larger holiday services, music appreciation Sunday in May, and for the Christmas program.  All orchestral and band instruments are welcome to join in these special groups.

SNL (Sunday Night Live) Praise Band leads a few songs with the confirmation and connect groups every Sunday evening. The rehearsal is before the confirmation opening at 5:15pm on Sundays. This group performs very high energy contemporary Christian songs as well as "campy"--hand moving songs.

Special Vocal Solos/Ensembles are done during the summer months and during the 8:00am service also.

HandBell Choir - we will hopefully be starting it back up again soon.  If you are interested in playing, we would love to have you join our ding-a-lings.

"WHATSOEVER YOU DO, DO IT AS UNTO THE LORD"

We do not shy away from the fact that we live in a world that is changing, growing and evolving.

We as a church believe that we need to use media to share the love of Christ

and to enhance a meaningful quality worship experience.

Audio/Sound Technician:  Volunteers help run the sound board on Sunday mornings.  They also prepare the sanctuary for larger services and events.  The key to this job is listening.  If you are a good listener, God might be calling you to the audio/sound world.

Media/Slide Technician: Volunteers are in charge of running Propresenter, which is the program that runs all of the slides.  The main job is to follow along with the songs and sermon and advance them as needed.

Media/Camera Operator: This person is in charge of recording the entire service on video.  The most challenging part is following Pastor Rob around during his sermon.  The video is then uploaded onto our website for people around the world to see.

Production Team:  This group of people have many different jobs...photographer, videographer, creating presentations and videos, editing...this list could go on and on.  If you have an eye for capturing people, scenery and events, this may be the area for you to serve.  Or if you enjoy working on a computer putting all of the raw product together, we could also use your help.

we are called not to "do" church but to "be" the church
