Middle school youth

At Hope, all Middle Schoolers are welcomed and nurtured.  We worship, learn, serve, and play together.  We go to camp, we sing loud and off-key, we do silly skits, and we tell VERY corny jokes.  Middle School is awesome because Middle School kids are awesome, and ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!!

QUEST is Hope's Confirmation ministry for students in grades 5 through the beginning of grade 9. QUEST is built upon the idea that questioning leads to deeper faith; students are encouraged to explore their beliefs, challenge assumptions, and acknowledge their doubts.  QUEST culminates in a service of Confirmation (or "Affirmation of Baptism") in the fall of the 9th grade year.

QUEST has five essential and interlocking parts:

  • Worship
  • Discussion
  • Relationship
  • Service
  • and FUN!!

QUESTers worship together every Sunday night in a service that is geared toward and led by youth.  They participate in engaging discussions and other learning activities as they explore and decide what they believe.  They build relationships with each other and adults in the Hope community through small groups and team-building challenges.  They take part in frequent service to others (lunches for the homeless, blankets for victims of human trafficking, cards for service members, etc.) since we follow Jesus, who said he "came not to be served but to serve."  And we have a lot of FUN together--silly games, dumb jokes, goofy challenges!!

If your child is in grades 5-8, they can join QUEST at any time!  Students who begin in 5th grade will have the full 4-1/2 year program.  Students currently beginning 6th, 7th, or 8th grades will simply start where they are right now.

QUEST meets on Sunday nights from 6:00 to 7:45 p.m. during the school year.

There is a $50 activity fee for QUEST (please speak confidentially to Pastor Rob or Susanna if this would be difficult for your family.)
