what is the alternative christmas fair?

For more than fifteeeen years, Hope Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan has helped raise much needed funds for local, national and international non-profit groups and social agencies by hosting an Alternative Christmas Fair at the start of the holiday season.

The ACF is the opportunity for fair trade organizations, service organizations and non-profit organizations to offer unique gifts for sale and to inform others about their mission. Each participating organization offers unique gifts for sale or opportunities to donate specific items and they keep 100% of the proceeds. A $1 admission will be charged a the door and there are lunch items and homemade cookies for sale to cover administrative costs such as advertisement and table rental expenses. The ACF has raised over $317,600 to date.

How can you participate?

You can participate by shopping at the fair, baking cookies or volunteering to help the day of the fair.

Sign-ups for cookie baking are on the bulletin board and online starting in the fall.
