A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle

Oprah Winfrey says this book is "A wake-up call for the entire planet . . . [A New Earth] helps us to stop creating our own suffering and obsessing over the past and what the future might be, and to put ourselves in the now." Join us to discuss this book as a catalyst for greater understanding of faith in community. See you Wednesdays!

NOT MEETING FOR SUMMER ... MOVIES on WEDNESDAY INSTEAD!

Wednesday evenings at Hope are busy! So busy, that there is a meal offered to make our already busy lives a bit more bearable for at least that one evening.

During that meal we will have an opportunity to be in conversation with each other about the basics of our faith. From 6:30pm-7:30pm you are invited to join Pastor Rob and Pastor Greer to talk and learn about various topics such as the Bible, Christianity, and Lutheranism. We will even have opportunity to dive into topics such as Israeli/Palestinian relations, LGTBQIA issues and more!

Mothers of Hope (MOH)

Interested in a group just for moms and moms-to-be? If so, this is the group for you. Join the Mothers of Hope as they share their personal struggles as well as their "mom struggles".   READ MORE

“FOR WHERE TWO OR THREE ARE GATHERED IN MY NAME,

I AM THERE AMONG THEM.”

~ MATTHEW 18:20 ~

Hope is a growing church and it’s not always easy to meet each other. Dinners for Eight gives us a way to meet new people, develop new friendships, and strengthen our life together while we enjoy good food.

All adults are invited and encouraged to participate! When you sign up, you will be placed in a group of approximately eight people. We will be mixing up people intentionally so that new relationships can begin to grow, but if you particularly need or want to be with someone else, please just let us know.

When Do Groups Form?

Groups will be reformed each January and August so it will be necessary to sign up again for each session.

  • Groups organized in January will meet for dinners in February, March, April, and May
  • Groups organized in August will meet for dinners in September, October, November and December

Where Do Groups Meet?

Groups can decide together whether they’d like to do potluck meals or gather at a local restaurant—the goal is to have fun! Each group will have a facilitator who will coordinate meeting times and send out reminders.

How Do I Sign Up?

Groups are forming now for the next session -- September through December! Click here to register online. Please note that it is necessary to sign up again even if you have signed up in the past.

Questions? Please call the office at 248-553-7170 or email.

Do you like to sew? Can you sew a straight line? How about cutting fabric into squares? If you've answered yes to any of these questions then Quilt Group may be right for you! Quilt Group cuts, packages, sews, and quilts fabric into beautiful lap quilts which are then sold at our annual Alternative Christmas Fair or donated to those in need. Currently, this group doesn't meet at Hope ... everyone works at home at their own pace. Interested now? Contact Pastor Greer for more information.

Hope Lutheran Church is an inclusive community offering a safe place for all to worship. We have always meant "All are welcome". We believe that the church should be open to everyone and we affirm the love of God for everyone in the LGBT community. For more information and resources, click here.
